Aviamasters 2 Halloween joins BGaming’s October line-up

BGaming has nine new games lined up for spooky season, and one of them is a familiar flight with the lights turned down. Aviamasters 2 Halloween swaps the tropical sky for fog, ghosts and a pumpkin-headed pilot — and keeps the maths that made the sequel a Casual-world leader.

Nine releases for spooky season

BGaming has set out its October schedule, and it is a busy one. The studio’s September 30 release round-up (opens in a new tab) promises “mayhem and mischief, with Halloween hijinks and darker nights” across nine new titles, “from witch covens and haunted circuses to a new take on Aviamasters™.” That last one is the release we have been waiting to write about.

The month is not all haunts. Alongside the seasonal titles there is a desert-set Divine Queen sequel, a Mexican-themed chilli slot, a new Hot Rocket instalment and a speed-focused blackjack game. But the Halloween releases set the tone, and two of them are seasonal versions of BGaming’s biggest Casual hits: Chicken Halloween on 14 October, and Aviamasters 2 Halloween one day later.

What changes for Halloween

BGaming’s pitch is short and confident: Aviamasters 2 Halloween “takes an iconic BGaming hit and its proven math and mechanics and twists it into a seasonal delight.” The changes are all in the atmosphere. On the official game page (opens in a new tab), the world is “swallowed by an eerie green gloom,” and the flight runs between foggy islands over stormy seas rather than across a tropical horizon.

The cast has dressed up too. The pilot is now a pumpkinhead, and the rockets that stalk every Aviamasters 2 round have become ghosts — “Boo!”, as BGaming puts it. The Nitro booster is now a Nitro Potion, which is exactly the kind of detail that makes a seasonal edition feel made rather than recoloured.

The one presentational change that is more than cosmetic is where Safe Landing sits. BGaming says the mode is now highlighted on the start page, putting the guaranteed-win option in front of players before their first flight. It works exactly as before: 50× your stake per round, and every round ends on an island. In a game where the sea now looks genuinely unwelcoming, that is a smart thing to put up front.

What stays the same in Aviamasters 2 Halloween

Underneath the costume, this is the Aviamasters 2 players already know. Ghosts behave like the rockets they replace: they divide the Counter Balance by two and drag the plane’s trajectory down. The additive +1, +2, +5 and +10 symbols and the ×2 to ×5 multipliers still lift both the total and the plane. The four boosters — Magnet, Laser Gun, Nitro Potion and Life Buoy — do the same jobs, with the Laser Gun now shooting down ghosts and the Nitro Potion making the plane immune to them. Four speeds, autoplay and the customisable Spin button all carry over.

The 97% RTP, 2.50 hit rate and ×1,000 ceiling are identical, which is the point of “proven math.” The only line that reads differently is volatility, which the Halloween page lists as medium-low against the sequel’s medium; BGaming describes the result as “frequent payouts.” Our how to play guide covers every rule in full, and every word of it applies here once you read “ghost” for “rocket.”

Why a seasonal edition makes sense

Aviamasters has always been unusually well suited to a new coat of paint. As we put it when we looked at the Jon Vlogs edition, the format is “just a vehicle, a hazard, a target and a running number.” Aviamasters 2 Halloween re-themes three of those four and leaves the running number exactly where it was. The original game already had a Christmas edition; this is the sequel’s first seasonal turn.

The timing makes sense too. BGaming’s own partner data put Aviamasters 2 first in its Casual world only last month, with operators reporting that the franchise is still gaining momentum after more than a year on the market. Pairing it with Chicken Halloween, a seasonal Chicken Shot, means two of the Casual world’s named top performers arrive in costume within 24 hours of each other. For operators, that is a ready-made Halloween lobby built on games their players already trust. For players, it is a familiar flight with a fresh reason to take it.

Until Aviamasters 2 Halloween lands

Aviamasters 2 Halloween releases on 15 October, and BGaming says the demo “will be landing in the coming weeks.” Until then, the quickest way to get ready is the game it is built on: you can play the Aviamasters 2 demo free, and if the four boosters are new to you, our comparison of the original and the sequel explains what each one changes. When the haunted version goes live, the only thing left to learn will be the ghosts.
